You’ll need:
- Large pot.
- Raw human grade bones such as, beef, chickens, duck, turkey, lamb. Marrow bones, cartilage, chicken and/or duck necks, chicken frames and chicken feet are great to use.
- Raw Apple Cider Vinegar – 1 tablespoon
Instructions:
1. Wash bone in cold water then fill a large pot with the bones.
2. Add water to pot until bones are completely covered, plus an additional 10-15cm of water.
3. Add raw apple cider vinegar to the pot.
4. Place the pot with lid on top of cook top and set cook top on HIGH. Boil the bone for approximately 20 min , then reduce heat to LOW. Let simmer for 2 hour to 24 hours, depending on what type of bone you are using. Broth is ready when the meat, fat, marrow start to fall off the bones.
5. Turn off heat and strain out all bones and meat, leaving only broth in the pot.
7. Let broth cool completely before serving.
WARNING: Do not offer the cooked bone to you dogs, discard all bones thoroughly.
Depending on what type of bone used, bone broth below the fat layer may have a jelly-like consistency once cool. Keep in the refrigerator for a couple of days or frozen for several months.
Store them in ice cube containers and place one or 2 cubes into their dry kibbles to add moisture. Or offer them as treats during hot months to help hydrate.
Add broth to raw meat and/or vegetables during meal time.
Great for sick fur Bully dog or after surgery when dog can become a more picky eater.
