Is American Bully a Dangerous breed?
One of the most common misconceptions about the American Bully is that it is simply a type of pit bull, but the truth is these are two distinct breeds. Although the breed was first introduce by breeding American Staffordshire terrier and terrier like breed 40 years ago and 20 years later introducing Bulldogs. American Bully character are far from their ancestor.
According to Dr. Denenberg, an instructor and researcher at Bristol Veterinary College in the United Kingdom. “We essentially bred dogs for thousands of years for their behaviour.” “Environment, the owner, and the quality of maternal care a dog receives as a puppy also greatly impact the dog’s personality.”
Any breed of dog can show aggression and act unpredictable if raised incorrectly. They should be socialised from a very early age, and trained using positive techniques such as rewarding good behaviour.
“Dangerous and/or vicious animals should be labelled as such as a result of their actions or behaviour and not because of their breed,” according to an NACA (National Animal Care and Control Association) statement.
